Ellen Hutson | Groovy Day + Gift With Purchase July 15-19th

From July 15-19th, Ellen Hutson has a gift for you! Spend $75 and get the Trippin' Stamp Set free or spend $100+ and get both the Trippin' Stamp Set and the matching die free! Both are free while supplies last. Please visit EllenHutson.com for details.

I just love the vintage Volkswagen Transporters and this image of the VW van is just too cute! I always have so much fun playing with the Abstract Mountain dies, I had to use the Abstract Mountain again as the perfect backdrop for the road trip.

I began by choosing the cardstock colours for the individual pieces in the background and running them through the die cutting machine. From top to bottom, they are Candy Corn, Pale Rose (clouds), Candy Bar (darkest mountain), Peanut Cluster (mountain die cut with the Stitches Cover Plate), Taffy (light grey), glitter gold and Butter Mints (foremost hill die cut with the A2 Piercing Plate).

For visual interest, I added texture to two of the mountain sections using the Stitches Cover Plate and A2 Piercing Plate. Then I pieced the background together on a thin piece of printer paper. I doubled the layers of the Candy Bar, Taffy and Butter Mints layers for variations in dimension.

I stamped the little flowers from Trippin' on the Candy Bar section using Icing on the Cake ink and on the Taffy section using Twilight ink. Next, I heat embossed the clouds in white from Good Day on Pale Rose cardstock and the VW van on Candy Necklace cardstock.

I didn't plan out my sentiment beforehand so I was stuck as to where to stamp it. I decided to add some vellum Clouds dies and heat emboss the sentiment on one of those clouds. I was thrilled with the way this turned out! I popped up the Pale Rose clouds and the VW van with foam tape and added coordinating enamel dots to the headlights. To finish the card, I cut an A2 piece of Jawbreaker cardstock on an angle and attached it to a Butter Mints card base before attaching the Abstract Mountain panel.

Also, tomorrow, July 16, 2021 is the last day to hop along on Instagram in our Summer of Stamping kick-off for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to EllenHutson.com.

Spellbinders | July 2021 Clubs Inspiration Blog Hop + Giveaway!

I'm thrilled to be part of the Spellbinders July 2021 Clubs Inspiration Blog Hop! You should've arrived from Jenny Colacicco's blog and I have the full list of participants below. There are also details on the generous giveaway so be sure to read 'til the end. For this hop, I've used the Clear Stamp of the Month and this is my favourite Clear Stamp of the Month so far!

It had been far too long since I heat embossed an image with clear embossing powder on watercolour cardstock. These blooms look amazing and so realistic watercolored with distress inks. I only used three colours for the flowers and you can find those in the supply links below.

After the watercolouring was done, I used the same two colours I used on the leaves to add ink blending around the edges of the panel to give it warmth and a glow. When that was done, I used shimmer spritz, white mist and dark splatter on the outer corners.

To finish, I adhered the watercolour panel to a white linen card base using Bearly Arts liquid glue and embellished the card with a few white glitter enamel dots.

I hope you enjoyed today's card using the Clear Stamp of the Month! You have until July 24, 2021 to subscribe for these particular kits. Don't forget to check out the Take an Extra $25 Off Your $100 Purchase Promotion going on now!

Catherine Pooler | Make a Wish Release Day

Catherine Pooler's Make a Wish Release is available now! There are so many *NEW* products in the shop outside of this release, including side labels for the ink pads, large blending brushes and infinity shaker pockets! They're all in the Make a Wish Release category on the website so be sure to check it out.

I previously made A2 and #10 slimline cards using the Doxie Party Bundle so this time I wanted to make a mini slims card to show how easily the Doxie Birthday Party stamp set fits on all card sizes! I created a card base of 3.5" x 6" and trimmed a panel a quarter of an inch smaller. I used Juniper Mist ink to create a darker frame before attaching the panel. I also cut two strips of patterned paper from Cupcakes & Candles and attached them to the top and bottom of the panel.

I used one of the leftover droopy doxies from yesterday's card and dressed him up with a sweater and heart. Yes, the short sweater still fits on the bent doxie but you'd have to bend the longer sweater for the doxie that faces the other direction. This time I added an extra string for a third balloon and create a big pile of gifts and sugary treats! I especially love the way the new ink colours - Sparkling Berry, Clay Mask, Serene and Merlot - came together with Lemongrass and Juniper Mist on this card.
