Ellen Hutson | Essentials by Ellen June 10th Release | Reveal Week - Day 3

It's an exciting week with a new Essentials by Ellen Release available this Friday, June 10th! Today is Day 3 of Reveal Week and we're sneak peeking four new sets - Positive Vibes Stamp Set, Press Plate Hot Foil Stamp, Sentiment Strips Die and Way With Words Hot Foil Stamp.

I'm sharing a pair of cards using two of these new sets, the Sentiment Strips Die and Way With Words Hot Foil Stamp. These are now officially my absolute favourite sentiments to use! In fact, I made a whole box of them with different hot foils and coloured cardstock so I have a variety to choose from when creating.

This first card is a simple, flat, easy-to-mail card with gold heat embossed honey jars from the One in a Buzz-illion Stamp Set. I just love the way they look on white linen cardstock! 

I heat foiled the Way With Words Hot Foil Stamp using Polished Brass hot foil on Pitch Black cardstock and die cut it using the Sentiment Strips Die. Then I created a card base from Candy Hearts cardstock and attached the heat embossed panel flush to the top right corner and glued on the sentiment strip.

To create the background on this second card, I heat foiled the entire Way With Words Hot Foil Stamp using Opal hot foil on white linen cardstock. I love the way it looks like letterpress with a bit of shine. It's very subtle but definitely gives the card its wow factor.

To create the rest of the sentiment strips, I heat foiled the Way With Words Hot Foil Stamp using Matte Silver hot foil on Grapefruit, Sorbet, Candy Hearts and Pitch Black cardstock, then die cut them all with the Sentiment Strips Die.

I taped the five sentiment strips together and set that aside while I stamped and die cut the flower from One in a Buzz-illion using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. 

I secured the flower to the back of the grouped strips and popped it on to the card with foam tape. To finish, I added a few enamel dots in coordinating colours.

Ellen Hutson | Interactive Cards feat. Spellbinders Happy Dance Collection

Ellen Hutson has added lots of new Spellbinders products to the shop, including the Happy Dance Collection! When I saw the adorable drinks, flowers, glue and prize ribbon, I knew I had to have them. There are also two sentiment sets, We Dance Glimmer Sentiments, which I used on both these cards, and the Happy Parents Day Glimmer.

I made two cards using the same colours of Bazzill heavyweight cardstock from the Ellen Hutson shop. These include Marshmallow Chick, Gold Coins, Juicy Pear, Easter Grass, Gumdrop, Robin's Egg, Candy Necklace, Peanut Cluster and Licorice. The specialty cardstocks are Spellbinders gold mirror cardstock and Essentials by Ellen white linen cardstock.

On this Mother's Day card, I used the I Dance die set, adding the hot foil sentiment from We Dance Glimmer Sentiments to the sleeve on the coffee cup. I also used the flowers from the same die set as accents. You can create a huge bouquet as the object for the hands to hold but I used them as accents here.

To create the background, I cut a 0.875" x 4" strip of Robin's Egg cardstock, taped it flush to a 3.25" x 4" piece of white linen cardstock and again to a piece of 1.125" x 4" strip of Gumdrop cardstock. Then I dry embossed that panel using the Head in the Clouds embossing folder.

For my Father's Day card, I had to use the beer mug because it's so awesome! Actually, the bubbles in the beer lines are covered up by the label, which is disappointing but it still looks amazing. These dies are from the Let's Dance die set and I think you can see how it might be fun to mix and match these elements with I Dance.

Again, I used the same colours as the first card, minus Gumdrop but as I look at it now, I could've used it in the beer label since there's so much white on this design. To create the background, I heat foiled the Diagonal Glimmer Stripes on Robin's Egg cardstock, the dry embossed a 4" x 5.25" white linen cardstock panel using the Sun Rays embossing folder. This folder isn't sold at Ellen Hutson but you can get a similar effect by dry embossing with the Radiant Background Stencil.

Ellen Hutson | Essentials by Ellen March 4th Release IG Hop!

Today's the day! The new Essentials by Ellen Release is now available in the shop and we're celebrating with an Instagram Hop. My card for this hop features the Painted Florals, Casual Greetings Hot Foil Stamp and Berry Basket. I also included the A2 Piercing Plate 2. I knew I wanted this card based around the Berry Basket and I thought about stacking them so I cut them from Bazzill Peppermint, Candy Corn and Circus Peanuts cardstock.

Then I stamped the three flowers from Painted Florals in Rouge, Orange Peel and Sauna. The flower centres were stamped in Versafine Onyx Black. The leaves were stamped with Black Jack, once for the base layer and twice for the details. I layered the flowers on gold glitter cardstock to create a sparkly offset shadow before attaching them to the leaves.

I created the card base from white linen cardstock, then cut a 4" x 5.25" panel of Bazzill Pale Rose cardstock and added texture with the A2 Piercing Plate 2. I glued it to the card base flushed with the bottom-right corner.

I arranged the Berry Basket die cuts on the panel and trimmed off the excess. I popped the flowers on to the card with foam tape and added the perfect sentiment from the Casual Greetings Hot Foil Stamp Set, which was heat foiled with Polished Brass Hot Foil on Hero Hues Pitch Black cardstock.

Spellbinders | December 2021 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month

It's time to share the Spellbinders December 2021 Club Kits and you're going to love this month's Glimmer Hot Foil Kit -- Botanical Crest! It includes a stunning hot foil wreath that comes with separate dies for the inside and outside of the wreath so you can use it in different ways.

It also comes with two sentiments, also with coordinating dies. This particular sentiment is most likely to be used as a birthday sentiment, just like the other sentiment, but I think it could also be used in lieu of a Happy New Year sentiment. I love making New Year cards so that's what I had in mind with this design.

I foiled both the wreath and sentiment using Gold Hot Foil and added the little flowers using gold mirror cardstock. To create the background, I die cut gold mirror cardstock and three different shades of green cardstock using the Color Block Slices.

I haphazardly adhered the slices to the card base and cut off the overhanging pieces. I used foam tape to pop up the top layer of the wreath before attaching it to the card base. To finish, I added pearls to the centres of the tiny gold flowers, which are also part of the December 2021 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit. Ellen Hutson | Final Day of 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge + Essentials By Ellen Sale

These Shaker Globe tags were inspired by the following songs for the 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge: Day 4 -- Let It Snow, Day 5 -- I'll Be Home for Christmas, and Day 12 -- Holly Jolly Christmas.

I die cut these Shaker Globe tags from Juicy Pear, Easter Grass and Caramel Apple cardstock. Then I curved two sentiments from Merry Little Christmas and stamped them on the base of the globes.

Then I stamped images from Merry Little Christmas on the backs of two shakers and a sentiment from Retro Holiday Greetings on the third.

The holly tag features images from Holiday Sprigs, stamped with Rockin' Red, Martini and Spruce inks. The snow tag features the Snowflakes Dies in Peppermint and silver glitter cardstock, which is also bannered across the base of each globe and at the ribbon attachment. To finish, I filled each shaker with three types of star sequins and tied them off with ribbon and white twine.

Spellbinders | October 2021 Small Die of the Month

Hello, crafty friends! Today's card features the Spellbinders October 2021 Small Die of the Month which is primarily focused on Thanksgiving and Christmas but you can definitely use it year-round. Isn't it cute?! I just love that truck which you can customize in so many ways. I also love the details on the pumpkins and trees. I didn't even use the present so you can imagine all the birthday cards, too!

I used the same colour palette as my other three cards for both the October 2021 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month (HERE and HERE) and the October 2021 Stamp & Die of the Month (HERE). The only colour missing from this card is the red.

I used the Universal Curved Border Set to cut the hill from Jawbreaker cardstock. Then I foiled one of the sentiments from Mini Christmas Sentiments Strips with Copper hot foil on the bottom edge of the panel, which I adhered to a Pale Rose mini slim card base.

I die cut the trees from gold glitter cardstock and added some gold mirror cardstock to the pumpkins to add extra shine to the card. I attached all of the elements to the card using a combination of Scor-Tape, glue dots and liquid glue.

Spellbinders | October 2021 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month (Part 2)

I'm back with another card using Spellbinders' October 2021 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month - Glimmering Autumn Woods. This card is the reverse version of my previous card using this same kit. The first card was image heavy and featured more of the Pale Rose cardstock. 

This one features more of the darker colours, focused primarily on Jawbreaker cardstock as the panel with Pale Rose for the foiled sentiment and as the card base. One of the things I love most about the kit is that it comes with a different hot foil roll each month, which allows you to try different foil colours. I probably wouldn't have purchased this gorgeous copper foil on my own but now that I've used it, I'm obsessed and will need to keep it on hand!

I used the Striped Slimline Embossing Folder to create a pattern on the right side of the panel before attaching it to the card base. After arranging the pieces, I attached them to each other to preserve the arrangement and then to the panel.

On this card, I used the two-toned mushroom by first foiling the mushroom on Wax Lips cardstock and the stem on kraft cardstock. Each colour was used twice, except Candy Necklace and Jawbreaker.

All of the pieces were adhered flat, except for the Candy Hearts and Wax Lips flowers and the sentiment strip. To finish, I embellished the three flowers to coordinating pearls.
