Catherine Pooler | Christmas is Here

I'm back with more inspiration using the Nostalgic Season stamp set and coordinating dies from Catherine Pooler's This Christmas release. As I mentioned before, this is a 6" x 8" layering stamp set and there are so many beautiful, intricate stamps. You can do so much with this stamp set! Since my first card featured the bell and ornaments, I wanted to feature different stamps so I went with a mantle-style scene and used the stocking and Christmas tree. I also used the Garland Borders stamp set to frame my scene.

Once again, my colours were inspired by the Grandma's Attic colour combo. If you love both the Nostalgic Season and Garland Borders stamp sets, and the colour inspiration, you can purchase everything together in the Nostalgic Season Bundle and save!

In this card, I stamped the stockings and tree in Juniper Mist before using the layering stamps to fill them in. On the stocking, I used Hot Tub, Clay Mask and Polished. On the front layer of the tree, I used Green Tea and on the back layer, I used Eucalyptus. I cut the Eucalyptus tree in half down the middle and used Bearly Art liquid glue to adhere it to the Green Tea layer.

I ombre stamped the garland in my MISTI stamping tool using Green TeaEucalyptus and Spruce. I originally planned to leave it plain with just the ombre greens but when I arranged the stockings and tree, it seemed to bare. To add colour, and to avoid actual colouring, I used the large circle for Rudolph's nose to stamp Hot Tub in the centres of the petal flowers and the smaller circle to stamp Polished in the berries. Then I used the two little leaf stamps from Feeling Peachy Sentiments to fill in the leaves and holly with Eucalyptus and Green Tea, respectively.

Club Sursee by Catherine Pooler Designs | September 2021 | Part 3 of 3

I'm back with one last inspiration post for the September 2021 Deluxe Club Sursee and this time I used all of the colours included in the Bright Idea Slimline Patterned Paper! Since I wanted all of the colours to be featured on all of the butterfly images included in the Take Flight stamp set, I needed to use a slimline card base.

I used the Essentials Slimline Die to create the scalloped panel. Then I stamped all of the butterflies with the ink pads in rainbow order, doubling and tripling up on the inks to create an ombre effect on all of the butterflies.

Once all of the butterflies were done, I use the dies to cut matte gold foil shadows and adhered the two layers together. Once I determined the arrangement or flow of the butterflies down the length of the slimline card, I heat embossed the sentiment in gold.

To finish, I popped up some of the butterflies with foam tape and adhered others directly on the panel with liquid glue

I didn't take close-ups of the other two thank you cards I made with the largest scripted sentiment in the Thank You Many Ways stamp set, along with the diamonds from Take Flight. One is a one-layer card and the other is a white panel with scored frame on a black card base.

If you're a Club Sursee or Deluxe Club Sursee subscriber, your September 2021 goodies should be arriving soon! I hope you're inspired by all of my samples this month. As most of you know, I was a Club Ambassador before being a Brand Ambassador so it felt so good to be creating for Club Sursee again this month, just like old times. Club Sursee by Catherine Pooler Designs | September 2021 | Part 2 of 3

I'm back with more inspiration for the September 2021 Deluxe Club Sursee and this time I went ultra clean and simple, using the Circle Weave Die in a non-traditional way. Again, my colour scheme is based on the Bright Idea Slimline Patterned Paper and, this time, I used the brighter end of the spectrum.

First, I die cut three of the Circle Weave Die from heavyweight cardstock. I also die cut the three circles from a panel of A2-sized masking paper. I secured the negative section of the masking paper to the card base. Then I used removable tape to secure one die cut in its positive space. I used blending brushes and Pink Champagne, Rose Petals, Shea Butter and Sauna inks to blend the weave pattern on to both the die cut itself and as a stencil on the card base.

After all three circles were ink blended, I removed both the masking paper and the inked up die cuts. I used a basic circle die from my stash that is slightly smaller than the Circle Weave Die to create a thin ring, which I adhered to the card base using Bearly Art liquid glue. I used my scissors to trim off the overhanging sections and stamped the sentiment from the Thank You Many Ways stamp set using Cove Blue ink.

If you're a Club Sursee or Deluxe Club Sursee subscriber, your September 2021 goodies should be arriving soon! I hope you're inspired to create with this month's products and I'll be back soon with a closer look at the other cards I made with these stamps and dies. Club Sursee by Catherine Pooler Designs | September 2021 | Part 1 of 3

I had a blast creating with the September 2021 Deluxe Club Sursee so you're in for a treat since I made five inspiration cards! This month's theme is gratitude and personal growth. If you love butterflies and geometric patterns, you're going to love this month's Sursee goodies. My colour scheme is based on the Bright Idea Slimline Patterned Paper and I love to make all my Sursee cards for the month with the same colours so they photograph nicely. It also makes it easier to plan out all my cards!

I chose the smallest of the butterflies from the Take Flight stamp set and ombre-stamped three of them on heavyweight cardstock using Green Tea and Cove Blue inks, using a sponge dauber to blend the transitions perfectly. I placed foam tape on the backs and set them aside to create the panel details. I trimmed a 4" x 5.25" panel and a piece of Green Tea patterned paper from the Bright Idea Slimline Patterned Paper. Then I placed a strip of black glitter cardstock at the top of that section.

I trimmed another strip of white cardstock and stamped a row of diamonds from the Take Flight stamp set in Midnight ink. Then I used my score board to score along the top and bottom of those diamonds, adhering the strip to the panel. I stamped the sentiment, also from Take Flight, then adhered the panel to a white card base and popped on the butterflies.

If you're a Club Sursee or Deluxe Club Sursee subscriber, your September 2021 goodies will be shipping soon! I hope you're inspired to create with this month's products and I'll be back soon with a closer look at the other cards I made with these stamps and dies.

Catherine Pooler | This Christmas Release

Catherine Pooler's newest release This Christmas is now available! My absolute favourite set from this release is Nostalgic Season and I've highlighted it here. It's a 6" x 8" layering set and it's soooo beautiful! I'm completely obsessed with this set and I think you will be, too.

The colours on this card were inspired by the new Grandma's Attic Slimline Patterned Paper which is so beautiful. The ink colours featured here are Polished, Clay MaskHot Tub and Spruce. I stamped the various outlines and 'coloured' the images with the solid stamps. It was so fun watching these ornaments come together!

On the round ornament, I did a little heat embossing with the white ring that goes around the Spruce outline. I used a new-to-me WOW Embossing powder called Sparkling Snow and it's perfect for winter/holiday cards. Then I die cut the two largest frames from white and white glitter cardstock, respectively, using the new Scallops & Dots Dies.

I used blending brushes to add PolishedClay Mask and Hot Tub to the dotted panel before stamping the strings for the ornaments and popping them on with foam tape. I stamped the Woodgrain Background in Spruce and attached all the layers with a panel of vellum between the white glitter scallops and the woodgrain.

There are so many amazing new products in the shop and I hope you'll go check them out! Please let me know what inspires you most to get started on your holiday cardmaking.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you again soon with more inspiration!

Ellen Hutson | Essentials by Ellen Tricks for Treats Week

This week, Ellen Hutson Design Ambassadors are sharing more projects using the Fall + Halloween Release. I've made a matching card and tag set using 6 of the new release items. Even though I used so many products, I kept my designs clean and simple.

I had a lot of fun playing with the Tiny Stars Background, which is a foiling stamp. On the card, I used lavender petal hot foil on Gina K white layering weight cardstock; you can see the green hot foil on vellum in the background. I combined both the lavender petal and green hot foils on the Farmhouse Tags.

I also used the Essentials Stars dies with the A2 Piercing Plate 2 to create texture. There are two layers of licorice twist cardstock and the silver glitter outlines are stacked on two layers of Neenah heavyweight for extra dimension.

On the card, I used Catherine Pooler's Grass Skirt ink pad and the ink-to-paper technique to create a small panel of green cardstock, which I used to heat emboss a sentiment from Tag It - Halloween, then die cut it using the Nice of You Die.

On the tag, I heat embossed the sentiment from Tag It - Halloween on sour grape cardstock die cut using the Farmhouse Tags, which were layered with licorice twist cardstock and tied with midnight twine. I created a shadow layer for the ghosts and bats from Halloween Boo-quet on sour grape cardstock and licorice twist cardstock for the card and tags, respectively.

Spellbinders | September 2021 Small Die of the Month

Today's Spellbinders inspiration features the September 2021 Small Die of the Month with the Love Stripes Embossing Folder. You can see these flowers used on my previous card for the Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month. In fact, this card is a simpler version of yesterday's card since it only has half the colours. As with all card kit subscriptions, you can cancel anytime and there is no long-term obligation!

The September 2021 Small Die of the Month allows for ultra clean and simple cards that make an impact. It includes 8 words that you can use to customize your sentiments. They're paired up so each word has a mat which increases all the design possibilities. Since I always have a shortage of birthday cards, I decided to make another birthday card.

I die cut my sentiment from gold glitter cardstock. I also die cut the words twice more with Neenah heavyweight cardstock to layer. The mat was die cut from vellum cardstock. The layers for the sentiment are -- from top to bottom -- gold glitter, white, vellum and white for a total of four layers. I wanted the extra white layers to pop up the gold words, as well as lift the vellum off the card base for visual interest.

To keep it crisp and keep the focus on the words, I fewer flowers on this card and these were the extra flowers that were die cut and assembled for yesterday's card. The flowers were die cut from Simon Says Stamp cardstock in Lipstick RedAudrey Blue and Lavender. The gold foil cardstock is from the Sizzix opulent pack. I used Bearly Art liquid glue to assemble the sentiment and flowers, and popped up the flowers with foam tape

Spellbinders | September 2021 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month

Today's Spellbinders inspiration features the September 2021 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month! This month's kit comes a roll of beautiful Polished Brass Foil and a total of 11 dies -- 8 foiling dies and 3 cutting dies for the banner. As with all card kit subscriptions, you can cancel anytime and there is no long-term obligation!

I was thrilled to see this ribbon-style banner for this month's Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month. It's absolutely beautiful and so easy to put together. Plus, with 6 different words/phrases, it covers so many different occasions. I paired it up with the flowers from the September 2021 Small Die of the Month and the Striped Slimline Embossing Folder.

All of the coloured cardstock is from Simon Says Stamp and I dry embossed Green Apple for the panel. The front of the banners were foiled on Blue Violet cardstock. The flowers were die cut from Lipstick Red, Sunshine, Audrey Blue and Lavender. The gold foil cardstock is from the Sizzix opulent pack. I used a combination of Bearly Art liquid glue and foam tape to add dimension to the banner and flowers. I added a small sprinkling of white pearls to finish the card.
